Achieve Australia preparing for NDIS

30 April 2014

Minister for Disability Services John Ajaka yesterday opened Achieve Australia’s new head office in Ryde and congratulated the non-government organisation for the work they carry out to support people with disability.

“It was a pleasure to not only celebrate such an important milestone for the organisation but also visit one of their large residential centres earlier today which has been recently sold,” Mr Ajaka said.

“The funds are being invested into new and more appropriate group homes in preparation for the National Disability Insurance Scheme’s (NDIS) future clients.

“I commend organisations like Achieve for being proactive about change and preparing for the new chapter in disability services, which is the NDIS.

“This financial year alone, the NSW Government has funded Achieve Australia more than $17 million for disability support services such as in-home care and community engagement programs.

“The relocation to the North Ryde business precinct enhances Achieve’s connection with corporate Australia and will also improve future employment opportunities for people with disability.

“With the NDIS rollout progressing, the organisation’s position also opens up business prospects and will help foster corporate support through fundraising and volunteering opportunities,” Mr Ajaka said.

Achieve Australia is committed to becoming a service provider of choice for people with disability in areas such as social inclusion, accommodation and employment services within Sydney and across New South Wales.

The new office will also ensure Achieve Australia has sufficient space and staff to manage the expected increase in services required by clients under the NDIS.
