Don't DIS my ABILITY celebrates 10 years

The Don’t DIS my ABILITY campaign has launched in its landmark 10th year.

For the past decade, Don’t DIS my ABILITY has celebrated the diversity and ability of people with disability in NSW. The campaign has grown to captivate a worldwide audience, with more than 20,000 people from 45 countries engaging with Don’t DIS my ABILITY on its Facebook and Twitter pages.

This year’s Don’t DIS my ABILITY campaign highlights disability issues across three key themes: living, learning and travelling in the community.

These themes are explored in the campaign magazine Made You Look, now in its seventh edition. As well as a print version, for the first time ever, Made You Look is available as an online edition, which is optimised for tablets and smartphones.

Nineteen ambassadors have been selected from the arts, sports and business fields to help spread the Don’t DIS my ABILITY message. You’ll see these ambassadors at events, in the media and online. Among the ambassadors is the face of this year’s Don’t DIS my ABILITY campaign, Donna Purcell.

There are lots of ways to get involved in the Don’t DIS my ABILITY campaign: you can pick up or download a copy of Made You Look, attend one of the many events happening across NSW or check out the campaign on Facebook and Twitter.
