Supporting employment goals for people with disability

Timesavers employees print, sort and mail ADHC books

Ageing, Disability and Home Care have produced a series of booklets entitled Choosing a service provider. The booklets are for the individually funded life skills and employment programs.

This year, ADHC engaged TimeSavers, an Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE) operated by The Mai-Wel Group in the Hunter Valley, to print the booklets as well as sort and mail letters with information packs to 2012 school leavers. The information packs cover the following programs: Community Participation, Life Choices, Active Ageing and Transition to Work.

This was the first time ADHC outsourced this particular job and provided an opportunity for the ADE to deliver quality products and service while creating meaningful employment for people with disability. The job also resulted in cost savings of around $4700.

Some of the TimeSavers employees were originally participants of Transition to Work, a two-year program that helps school leavers find employment.

The booklets are available under Information for school leavers and Day programs.
