Ageing strategy consultations
NSW Ageing Strategy
The number of older people in NSW is projected to grow significantly in coming years, and this will have profound implications across our whole community. The priority is to put in place the right services and planning measures so we fully realise the opportunities arising from an ageing population. To address this, we are developing a NSW Ageing Strategy.
Have your say
The NSW Government is committed to bringing members of our community into decisions on planning for our ageing population. This will ensure that the NSW Whole of Government Ageing Strategy best meets the needs of our community.
Consultations
Consultations were held at various locations around NSW from December 2011 to January 2012 with older people, their carers and families. Special consideration was made to consult with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and other groups.
Next steps
A draft strategy will be available for public comment. More information will be made available closer to the release date.
