Person centred approaches consultations
Living Life My Way consultations
The Government led a series of extensive consultations on the best way to implement self directed supports and individualised funding arrangements.
Consultations 2012
The 2012 consultation stage was launched at a one-day event on Tuesday 24 April 2012 at Allphones Arena. Between May and June 2012, nearly 100 consultation sessions were held across NSW. More than 1,700 people participated in these sessions – we consulted with people with disability, their families and carers, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with an intellectual disability, service providers and other stakeholders.
The outcomes reports from these consultations are now available:

This is not the end of the consultation process. There will be an ongoing engagement with people with disability, the families and carers, service providers and the community as NSW moves towards a disability system based on self directed supports and individualised budgets. In particular, the NSW Government will be consulting with Aboriginal communities in the first half of 2013 as part of the implementation planning for the disability reforms
