Mealtime Management Modules

This is an e-learning course with supporting resource materials and appraisal for the mealtime management core standard program. These modules can be accessed at this address:

24 Hour Positioning (including seating and wheeled mobility)

This practice guide provides Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists with basic guidelines on providing effective and efficient intervention to support an individual with disability with 24 hour positioning.

Play and leisure across the lifespan

This core standard explores types of play and leisure, the impact of various disabilities, the influence of culture and the environment, and assessment and intervention options. The practice guide and optional appraisal are suitable for a range of practitioners, including occupational therapists. A guide to developing playfulness in care has also been developed for this core standard.

Environmental modifications

This standard considers how the person’s natural environments influence occupational performance and how the occupational therapist can promote a fit between the person, the task and the environment. An optional appraisal is available for occupational therapists.

Optional Additional Core Standards

Supporting Sexuality

This core standard supports occupational therapists and other interested practitioners to understand the importance of sexual expression for people with disability. It ensures that these practitioners are well placed to support individuals to engage in valued and meaningful roles and occupations related to sexuality. An optional appraisal is available for occupational therapists.

Supporting Sleep

This core standard provides a practice guide for practitioners so that they are equipped to identify sleep issues and support people with disability to experience adequate sleep. An optional appraisal is available.
